Gynaecology care in Whitefield for every age

Treatment for heavy or painful periods, fibroids, PCOS, ovarian cysts, infections and menopause symptoms, plus HPV vaccination and cervical screening, in Whitefield, Bengaluru.

When should you see a gynaecologist?

See a gynaecologist if your periods become heavier, more painful or irregular, if you bleed between periods or after menopause, or if you have pelvic pain, unusual discharge or a breast lump. Routine visits are also useful for cervical screening, contraception and before planning a pregnancy.

Most gynaecological problems are common and treatable, and checking them early usually means simpler treatment.

Dr Sreeja Rani V R has published research on fibroids as a cause of abnormal uterine bleeding, and has special training in laparoscopy and in gynaecologic oncology at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru.

Questions

Gynaecology FAQs

Can fibroids be treated without surgery?
Often, yes. Small fibroids that cause few symptoms may only need monitoring, and medicines can reduce heavy bleeding. Surgery is considered when symptoms continue, the fibroids are large, or they affect fertility.
Is PCOS curable?
PCOS is a long-term condition, but its symptoms can be managed well. Treatment depends on your main concern, such as irregular periods, weight, skin and hair changes, or getting pregnant.
What age is the HPV vaccine given?
The HPV vaccine works best when given before exposure to HPV, ideally in the pre-teen years. Older girls and women can also benefit; the number of doses depends on age, so ask which schedule suits you.
Is bleeding after menopause serious?
Any bleeding after menopause should be checked promptly. Most causes are not serious, but it needs assessment to rule out problems in the lining of the womb.
